Sort of apology from BBC for Doctor Who bannergate.
I recently blogged about the stupid trailer/banner that the BBC put over the end of the latest episode of Doctor Who. It also apparently enraged a few other people who put fingers to keyboards to let the BBC know.
Today I received an email response from “BBC Complaints”:
Thank you for your e-mail.
The ‘Over the Rainbow’ trail in ‘Doctor Who’ should not have played out on Saturday and we apologise to all ‘Doctor Who’ fans whose enjoyment of the show was disrupted. We recognise the strength of feeling that has been expressed and are taking steps to ensure that this mistake will not happen again.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact us with your concerns.
I know it’s a form reply that has been sent to everyone who complained, but, hey at least it’s something. They know they done wrong, and are unlikely to risk the ire of the online whovians again….. until the next time. I wonder if Graham Norton can make it a hat-trick and disrupt a future episode of Doctor Who just once more…
